Hermanos, tenemos dones diferentes, según la gracia que Dios nos ha concedido: si es el don de profecía, ejerciéndolo en la medida de nuestra fe; si es el ministerio, sirviendo en el ministerio; si es la enseñanza, enseñando; si es la exhortación, exhortando. El que da, que dé con sencillez; el que preside, que sea solícito; el que ejerce la misericordia, que lo haga con jovialidad. Que su caridad no sea fingida; detesten el mal y adhiéranse al bien; ámense cordialmente los unos a los otros, estimando en más cada uno a los otros. Sean diligentes y eviten la negligencia. Sirvan al Señor con espíritu fervoroso. Alégrense de la esperanza que comparten; no cejen ante las tribulaciones y sean perseverantes en la oración. Compartan las necesidades de los santos y practiquen la hospitalidad. Bendigan a los que los persiguen; no maldigan. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; he who teaches, in his teaching; he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who contributes, in liberality; he who gives aid, with zeal; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Never flag in zeal, be aglow with the Spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. [RSV]

En aquel tiempo, Jesús subió a la barca, pasó a la otra orilla y llegó a su pueblo. En esto le trajeron un paralítico postrado en una camilla. Viendo Jesús la fe que tenían, dijo al paralítico: «¡Ánimo!, hijo, tus pecados te son perdonados.» Entonces algunos escribas dijeron para sí: «Éste está blasfemando.» Jesús, sabiendo lo que pensaban, dijo: «¿Por qué piensan mal en su interior? ¿Qué es más fácil, decir ‘Tus pecados te son perdonados’ o decir ‘Levántate y anda’? Pues para que sepan que el Hijo del hombre tiene en la tierra poder de perdonar pecados —dice entonces al paralítico—: ‘Levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa’.» Él se levantó y se fue a su casa. La gente, al ver aquello, temió y alabó a Dios, que había dado tal poder a los hombres. [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, getting into a boat Jesus crossed over and came to his own city. And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, lying on his bed; and when Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.” And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming.” But Jesus, seeing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say ‘Rise and walk?’ But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he then said to the paralytic — “Rise, take up your bed and go home.” And he rose and went home. When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men. [RSV]
