Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. En aquel tiempo: se acercó un magistrado y se postró ante él diciendo: «Mi hija acaba de morir; pero ven, impón tu mano sobre ella y vivirá.» Jesús se levantó y le siguió junto con sus discípulos. En esto, una mujer que padecía hemorragias desde hacía doce años se acercó por detrás y tocó la orla de su manto, pues decía para sí: «Con sólo tocar su manto, me salvaré.» Jesús se volvió y, al verla, le dijo: «¡Ánimo!, hija, tu fe te ha salvado.» Y desde aquel momento quedó sana la mujer. Al llegar Jesús a casa del magistrado y ver a los flautistas y a la gente alborotando, dijo: «¡Retiraos! La muchacha no ha muerto; está dormida.» Los presentes se burlaban de él. Pero, una vez echada fuera la gente, entró él y la tomó de la mano, y la muchacha se levantó. Esta noticia se divulgó por toda aquella comarca. [BJ-SAOGM]

At that time, a ruler came and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.” And Jesus rose and followed him, with his disciples. And behold, a woman who had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment; for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I shall be made well.” Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well. And when Jesus came to the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players, and the crowd making a tumult, he said, “Depart; for the girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him. But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. And the report of this went through all that district. [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Teotocos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Teotocos, te exaltamos.

It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
