En Tu nombre, Señor, Dios de Verdad, y en nombre de Tu Hijo Único y de Tu Espíritu Santo, impongo mis manos sobre tu siervo (Nombre) que ha sido hecho digno de recurrir a tu nombre y de refugiarse bajo la sombra de tus alas. Aleja de él el antiguo error y llénalo de fe en Ti, de esperanza y de caridad, para que sepa que Tú eres el Único Dios Verdadero con Tu Hijo Único y Tu Espíritu Santo. Haz que siga el camino de tus mandamientos y haga todo lo que te agrada, porque quien los cumple tiene la vida. Inscríbelo en el libro de la vida, agrégalo al rebaño de tu herencia; que sea glorificado en él tu nombre santo y el de tu amadísimo Hijo Nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo y el de tu Espíritu, que da la vida. Que tus ojos lo miren siempre con piedad y que tus oídos escuchen la voz de su plegaria. Haz lo alegrarse de las obras de sus manos y de toda su descendencia, para que Te alabe, adorando y glorificando Tu Santísimo y Altísimo nombre, durante todos los días de su vida.

In Your Name, O Lord God of Truth, and in the Name of Your Only-Begotten Son, and of Your Holy Spirit, I lay my hand upon this Your servant (Name), who has been accounted worthy to flee unto Your Holy Name and to be sheltered under the shadow of Your wings. Remove far from him (her) that ancient error, and fill him (her) I with faith and hope and love that is in You, that he (she) may know that You alone are the True God, and Your Only-Begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and Your Holy Spirit. Grant him (her) to walk in Your commandments, and to observe those things that are acceptable before You; for if a man does such he shall find life in them. Inscribe him (her) in Your Book of Life, and unite him (her) to the flock of Your inheritance. Let Your Holy Name be glorified in him (her) and that of Your well-beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and of Your Life-creating Spirit. Let Your eyes look over him (her) in mercy, and Your ears be ever attentive unto the voice of his (her) prayer. Let him (her) ever rejoice in the works of his (her) hands, and in all his (her) generation, that he (she) may give thanks to You, worshipping and glorifying Your great and Most High Name, and may ever praise You all the days of his (her) life.

Ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί σου, Κύριε, ὁ Θεὸς τῆς ἀληθείας, καὶ τοῦ μονογενοῦς σου Υἱοῦ, καὶ τοῦ Ἁγίου σου Πνεύματος, ἐπιτίθημι τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ τὸν δοῦλον (τὴν δούλην) σου (τόνδε) (τήνδε) τὸν καταξιωθέντα (τὴν καταξιωθεῖσαν) καταφυγεῖν ἐπὶ τὸ ἅγιον ὄνομά σου, καὶ ὑπὸ τὴν σκέπην τῶν πτερύγων σου διαφυλαχθῆναι. Ἀπόστησον ἀπʼ αὐτοῦ (αὐτὴν) τὴν παλαιὰν ἐκείνην πλάνην, καὶ ἔμπλησον αὐτὸν (αὐτὴν) τῆς εἰς σὲ πίστεως καὶ ἐλπίδος καὶ ἀγάπης, ἵνα γνῶ ὅτι σὺ εἶ Θεὸς μόνος, Θεὸς ἀληθινός, καὶ ὁ μονογενής σου Υἱός, ὁ Κύριος ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦς Χριστός, καὶ τὸ Ἅγιόν σου Πνεῦμα. Δὸς αὐτῷ (αὐτῇ) ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ἐντολαῖς σου πορευθῆναι, καὶ τὰ ἀρεστά σοι φυλάξαι· ὅτι ἐὰν ποιήσῃ αὐτὰ ἄνθρωπος ζήσεται ἐν αὐτοῖς. Γράψον αὐτὸν (αὐτὴν) ἐν βίβλῳ ζωῆς σου καὶ ἔνωσον αὐτὸν (αὐτὴν) τῇ ποίμνῃ τῆς κληρονομίας σου· δοξασθήτω τὸ ὄνομά σου τὸ ἅγιον ἐπʼ αὐτῷ (αὐτῇ) καὶ τοῦ ἀγαπητοῦ σου Υἱοῦ, Κυρίου δὲ ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, καὶ τοῦ ζωοποιοῦ σου Πνεύματος. Ἔστωσαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ἀτενίζοντες εἰς αὐτὸν (αὐτὴν) ἐν ἐλέει διαπαντός, καὶ τὰ ὦτά σου τοῦ ἀκούειν τῆς φωνῆς τῆς δεήσεως αὐτοῦ (αὐτῆς). Εὔφρανον αὐτὸν (αὐτὴν) ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτοῦ (αὐτῆς), καὶ ἐν παντὶ τῷ γένει αὐτοῦ (αὐτῆς)· Ἵνα ἐξομολογήσηταί σοι, προσκυνῶν (προσκυνοῦσα) καὶ δοξάζων (δοξάζουσα) τὸ ὄνομά σου τὸ μέγα καὶ ὕψιστον, καὶ αἰνέσῃ σε διαπαντὸς πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ (αὐτῆς).

For all the Powers of Heaven praise You, and Yours is the Glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages.

El Señor te ordena, oh Demonio, el Señor que vino al mundo y habitó en medio de los hombres para destruir tu tiranía y librarlos de ella; Él, que, cuando estaba en la Cruz, triunfó de las fuerzas enemigas, dejando el sol de dar su luz temblando la tierra y resucitando los cuerpos de los santos. Él, que, con su muerte, venció la muerte y aniquiló al que tenía el poder de la muerte, es decir, a ti, oh demonio. Te conjuro por Aquél que caminó por las olas del mar como por tierra firme, que ordena el desenlace de los vientos, cuya mirada derrumba los abismos y cuya ira hace temblar las montañas. Es Él quien en este momento te ordena, por nuestro intermedio, que salgas, temas, te alejes de esta criatura y que nunca más te atrevas a ocultarte en ella ni ir a su encuentro, ni influenciaría, sea en horas de la noche o del día, por la mañana o al mediodía. Vuélvete al infierno hasta el día del gran Juicio. Teme a Dios, que está sentado sobre los Querubines, que mira los abismos y ante Quien estremecen los Ángeles, los Arcángeles, los Apóstoles, los Tronos, las Dominaciones, los Principados, las Legiones, las Potestades, los Querubines de muchos ojos y los Serafines de seis alas; ante Quien tiemblan el cielo, la tierra, el mar y todo lo que en ellos existe. Sal y apártate del soldado recién elegido y signado con el sello de Cristo nuestro Dios. Es por El mismo que yo te conjuro, por el que va sobre las alas de los vientos y hace de las llamas de fuego sus mensajeros, a ti y todo tu poder y todos tus ángeles, pues es glorificado el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, ahora y siempre y por los siglos de los siglos.

The Lord rebukes you, O devil, He that came into the world and made His dwelling among men, that He might cast down your tyranny, and deliver men; He that upon the Tree triumphed over the opposing powers, when the sun was darkened, and the earth was shaken, and the tombs were opened, and the bodies of the Saints arose; He that by death destroyed Death, and overcame him that held the might of death, that is, even you, O devil. I adjure you by the Living God, Who has shown forth the Tree of Life, and posted the Cherubim, and the flaming sword that turns about to guard this: be rebuked, and depart, for I forbid you, through Him that walks on the waves of the sea as upon the dry land, Who forbade the storm of the winds, Whose glance dries up the deep, and Whose threatenings melt the mountains; for it is He Himself that now forbids you through us. Be afraid, and depart, and absent yourself from this creature, and come not back, neither hide yourself in him (her), nor encounter him (her), nor influence him (her) either by night or by day, nor in the morning or at noon; but get you hence to your own Tartarus, until the appointed day of Judgment. Fear God, Who sits on the throne of the Cherubim, and looks upon the depths, before Whom tremble Angels, Archangels, Thrones, Principalities, Authorities, Powers, the many-eyed Cherubim, and the six-winged Seraphim; Whom Heaven and earth fear, the sea, and all that live therein. Come forth, and depart from the sealed and newly-enlisted soldier of Christ our God; for I adjure you by Him that rides upon the wings of the winds, Who makes His Angels spirits and His Ministers a flame of fire. Come forth, and from this creature which He fashioned depart with all your power and might; for glorified is the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages.

Ἐπιτιμᾷ σοι Κύριος, Διάβολε, ὁ παραγενόμενος εἰς τὸν κόσμον καὶ κατασκηνώσας ἐν ἀνθρώποις, ἵνα τὴν σὴν καθέλῃ τυραννίδα καὶ τοὺς ἀνθρώπους ἐξέληται· ὃς ἐπὶ ξύλου τὰς ἀντικειμένας δυνάμεις ἐθριάμβευσεν, ἡλίου σκοτισθέντος καὶ γῆς σαλευομένης, καὶ μνημάτων ἀνοιγομένων, καὶ σωμάτων Ἁγίων ἀνισταμένων· ὃς ἔλυσε θανάτῳ τὸν θάνατον, καὶ κατήργησε τὸν τὸ κράτος ἔχοντα τοῦ θανάτου, τουτέστι, σὲ τὸν Διάβολον. Ὁρκίζω σε κατὰ τοῦ Θεοῦ, τοῦ δείξαντος τὸ ξύλον τῆς ζωῆς καὶ τάξαντος τὰ Χερουβὶμ καὶ τὴν φλογίνην ῥομφαίαν τὴν στρεφομένην φρουρεῖν αὐτό. Ἐπιτιμήθητι καὶ ἀναχώρησον· κατʼ ἐκείνου γάρ σε ὁρκίζω τοῦ περιπατήσαντος, ὡς ἐπὶ ξηρᾶς, ἐπὶ νῶτα θαλάσσης, καὶ ἐπιτιμήσαντος τῇ λαίλαπι τῶν ἀνέμων· οὗ τὸ βλέμμα ξηραίνει ἀβύσσους καὶ ἡ ἀπειλὴ τήκει ὄρη. Αὐτὸς γὰρ καὶ νῦν ἐπιτάσσει σοι διʼ ἡμῶν· Φοβήθητι, ἔξελθε, καὶ ὑπαναχώρησον ἀπὸ τοῦ πλάσματος τούτου, καὶ μὴ ὑποστρέψῃς, μηδὲ ὑποκρυβῇς ἐν αὐτῷ, μηδὲ συναντήσῃς αὐτῷ ἢ ἐνεργήσῃς, μὴ ἐν νυκτί, μὴ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ἢ ὤρᾳ ἢ ἐν μεσημβρίᾳ· ἀλλʼ ἄπελθε εἰς τὸν ἴδιον τάρταρον, ἕως τῆς ἡτοιμασμένης μεγάλης ἡμέρας τῆς κρίσεως. Φοβήθητι τὸν Θεὸν τὸν καθήμενον ἐπὶ τῶν Χερουβίμ, καὶ ἐπιβλέποντα ἀβύσσους· ὃν τρέμουσιν Ἄγγελοι, Ἀρχάγγελοι, Θρόνοι, Κυριότητες, Ἀρχαί, Ἐξουσίαι, Δυνάμεις, τὰ πολυόμματα Χερουβίμ, καὶ τὰ ἑξαπτέρυγα Σεραφίμ· ὃν τρέμει ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ, ἡ θάλασσα καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτοῖς. Ἔξελθε καὶ ἀναχώρησον ἀπὸ τοῦ σφραγισθέντος νεολέκτου στρατιώτου Χριστοῦ τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν· κατʼ ἐκείνου γάρ σε ὁρκίζω, τοῦ περιπατοῦντος ἐπὶ πτερύγων ἀνέμων, τοῦ ποιοῦντος τοὺς Ἀγγέλους αὐτοῦ πνεύματα, καὶ τοὺς λειτουργοὺς αὐτοῦ πῦρ φλέγον. Ἔξελθε καὶ ἀναχώρησον ἀπὸ τοῦ πλάσματος τούτου σὺν πάσῃ τῇ δυνάμει καὶ τοῖς ἀγγέλοις σου. El Dios Santo, temible y glorioso, que es inescrutable en todas sus obras e incomprensible en todo su poder, que te ha destinado, oh demonio, a la angustia del suplicio eterno, te ordena, por medio de nosotros sus indignos ministros, en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, nuestro verdadero Dios, que te alejes, tú y todo el poder que te acompaña. Te conjuro, espíritu maligno, impuro, perverso y extraño con la autoridad de Jesús Cristo, que tiene todo poder en el cielo y en la tierra y que dijo al demonio sordo mudo: “Sal de este hombre y no habites más en él.” Aléjate y reconoce que tu poder es nulo, ya que no puede dominar ni a las jaurías. Recuerda a Aquel que te ordenó, conforme a tu pedido, entrar en la manada de cerdos. Teme a Dios, por cuyo mandato la tierra ha sido estabilizada en medio de las aguas; Quien creó los cielos, levantó las montañas y extendió las planicies; Quien ha puesto la arena como limite de los mares y ha trazado rutas seguras sobre las profundas aguas; Quien toca a los montes y los hace humear y se reviste de luz como de un manto, y ha extendido los cielos como una tienda de campaña y ha cubierto de agua su parte superior Quien ha fundado la tierra sobre sus bases y no se desnivelará jamás; Quien llama las aguas de los mares y las vierte sobre la tierra. Sal y aléjate del que se prepara en este momento para la santa iluminación. Te conjuro por la Pasión salvadora de Nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, por su Cuerpo Purísimo y por su Sangre Preciosa, por su temible segunda venida (parusía), porque vendrá sin duda a juzgar a toda la tierra y te castigará a ti y a las fuerzas que te apoyan con el fuego del infierno, precipitándote a las tinieblas exteriores, donde los gusanos carcomen sin cesar y donde el fuego nunca se extingue, porque el poder es de Cristo, nuestro Dios, y del Padre y el Espíritu Santo, ahora y siempre y por los siglos de los siglos.

God, the Holy, the Terrible, and the Glorious, Who concerning all His works and strength is incomprehensible and unsearchable, Who Himself has ordained for you O devil, the retribution of eternal torment, through us, His unworthy servants, commands you, and all your cooperating might to go forth from him (her) that is newly sealed in the Name of our Lord God and Savior Christ. Therefore, you all evil, unclean, abominable, loathsome and alien spirit, I adjure you by the power of Jesus Christ, Who has all authority in Heaven and on earth, Who says to the deaf and dumb demon, “Get out of the man, and enter no more into him.” Depart, know the vainness of your might, which had not power even over the swine! Remember Him Who bade you, at your request, to enter into the herd of swine. Fear God, at Whose command the earth was established upon the waters; Who has founded the Heavens, and fixed the mountains with a line, and the valleys with a measure; Who has placed the sand for a boundary to the sea, and made safe paths through the waters; Who touched the mountains and they smoked; Who clothed Himself with Light as with a garment; Who has stretched out the Heavens as with a curtain; Who covers His upper rooms with waters; Who has founded the earth on her firm foundations, so that it shall not be moved forever; Who calls up the waters of the seas, and sprinkles it on the face of the earth. Come out! Depart from him (her) who is now being made ready for Holy Illumination; I adjure you by the saving Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ, by His Precious Blood and All-Pure Body, and by His terrible Coming Again for He shall come and not tarry, to judge all the earth, and shall punish you and your cooperating might in the Gehenna of fire, consigning you to the outer darkness where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched; for of Christ is the Might, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages.

Ὁρκίζω σε οὖν, παμπόνηρον καὶ ἀκάθαρτον καὶ μιαρὸν καὶ ἐβδελυγμένον καὶ ἀλλότριον πνεῦμα, κατὰ τῆς δυνάμεως Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, τοῦ πᾶσαν ἐξουσίαν ἔχοντος ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς, τοῦ εἰπόντος τῷ κωφῷ καὶ ἀλάλῳ δαίμονι· Ἔξελθε ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου καὶ μηκέτι εἰσέλθῃς εἰς αὐτόν. Ἀναχώρησον, γνώρισον τὴν σὴν ματαίαν δύναμιν, τὴν μηδὲ χοίρων ἐξουσίαν ἔχουσαν. Ὑπομνήσθητι τοῦ ἐπιτάξαντός σοι, κατὰ τὴν σὴν αἴτησιν, εἰς τὴν ἀγέλην τῶν χοίρων εἰσελθεῖν. Φοβήθητι τὸν Θεόν, οὗ τῷ προστάγματι ἡ γῆ καθʼ ὑδάτων ἐστήρικται· τὸν κτίσαντα τὸν οὐρανόν, καὶ στήσαντα τὰ ὅρη σταθμῷ, καὶ τὰς νάπας ζυγῷ, καὶ θέντα ἄμμον θαλάσσῃ ὅριον, καὶ ἐν ὕδατι σφοδρῷ τρίβον ἀσφαλῆ· τὸν ἁπτόμενον τῶν ὀρέων καὶ καπνίζονται· τὸν ἀναβαλλόμενον φῶς ὡς ἱμάτιον· τὸν ἐκτείνοντα τὸν οὐρανὸν ὡσεὶ δέῤῥιν· τὸν στεγάζοντα ἐν ὕδασι τὰ ὑπερῷα αὐτοῦ· τὸν θεμελιοῦντα τὴν γῆν ἐπὶ τὴν ἀσφάλειαν αὐτῆς· οὐ κλιθήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος· τὸν προσκαλούμενον τὸ ὕδωρ τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἐκχέοντα αὐτὸ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς. Ἔξελθε, καὶ ἀναχώρησον ἀπὸ τοῦ πρὸς τὸ ἅγιον φώτισμα εὐτρεπιζομένου (εὐτρεπιζομένης). Ὁρκίζω σε κατὰ τοῦ σωτηριώδους πάθους τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, καὶ τοῦ τιμίου αὐτοῦ Σώματος καὶ Αἵματος, καὶ κατὰ τῆς ἐλεύσεως αὐτοῦ τῆς φοβερᾶς. Ἥξει γάρ, καὶ οὐ χρονιεῖ, κρίνων πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν, καὶ σὲ καὶ τὴν συνεργόν σου δύναμιν, κολάσει εἰς τὴν γέενναν τοῦ πυρός, παραδοὺς εἰς τὸ σκότος τὸ ἐξώτερον, ὅπου ὁ σκώληξ ὁ ἀκοίμητος, καὶ τὸ πῦρ οὐ σβέννυται. Ὅτι τὸ κράτος Χριστοῦ τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν, σὺν τῷ Πατρὶ καὶ τῷ Ἁγίῳ Πνεύματι, νῦν καὶ ἀεὶ καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων.

Señor del Universo, Dios del pueblo fiel, que curas toda enfermedad y dolor, mira a tu siervo (nombre), pruébalo, examínalo y aleja de él toda acción diabólica. The spirit of error, the spirit of evil, the spirit of idolatry and of all covetousness that works according to the teaching of the devil. Make him (her) a reason-endowed sheep of the holy Flock of Your Christ, and honorable member of Your Church, a hallowed vessel, a child of Light, and heir of Your Kingdom. Oh Dios clemente y misericordioso, que escrutas los corazones y las entrañas y que conoces los secretos de los hombres, porque nada puede ocultarse ante tu presencia sino que todo es a tus ojos patente y claro. Tú que conoces mi interior, no me desprecies ni apartes tu rostro de mí y no mires a mis pecados. Tú que olvidas los pecados de los hombres, cuando se arrepienten, lava mi cuerpo y purifica mi alma. Santifícame con tu poder perfecto e invisible y con tu diestra espiritual, a fin de que no sea yo mismo condenado como esclavo del pecado, después de haber predicado a otros la libertad. Oh Señor bondadoso y amante de la humanidad, no sea yo humillado y confundido. Envíame fuerza desde las alturas para administrar este gran Misterio celestial. O compassionate and merciful God, Who tries the heart and reigns, and Who alone knows the secrets of men, for no deed is secret in Your sight, but all things are exposed and naked in Your eyesight: do You Yourself, Who perceives that which concerns me, neither turn away Your face from me, but overlook my offenses in this hour, O You that overlook the sins of men that they repent. Wash away the defilement of my body and the stain of my soul. Sanctify me wholly by Your all-effectual, invisible might, and by Your spiritual right hand, lest, by preaching liberty to others, and offering this in the perfect faith of Your unspeakable love for humankind, I may be condemned as a servant of sin. Con tu voluntad has sacado todas las cosas de la nada a la existencia, con tu poder sostienes la creación y con tu providencia riges el mundo. Compusiste la naturaleza de cuatro elementos y coronaste el año con cuatro estaciones. Ante Ti tiemblan todas las legiones de los ángeles; a Ti Te canta el sol, te glorifica la luna, te escoltan las estrellas y te obedece la luz. A Tu paso se derrumban los abismos; A Ti te sirven las fuentes; Tú has extendido los cielos como una tienda de campaña y has estabilizado la tierra en medio de las aguas; has rodeado las aguas de arena y distribuyes el aire para que respiremos. Las legiones angélicas te sirven y los coros de los arcángeles te adoran. Los Querubines (todos cubiertos de ojos) y los Serafines (de sus alas) están ante Ti y vuelan en derredor de tu Trono, velándose el rostro por temor de Tu gloria inaccesible. Viniste a la tierra, tomaste forma de siervo y te hiciste semejante a los hombres, siendo el Dios indescriptible inefable, eterno e incomprensible. Por las entrañas de tu misericordia, Señor, no pudiste sufrir ver al género humano atormentado por el demonio, sino que has venido y nos has salvado. Confesamos esta gracia, proclamamos esta misericordia y publicamos este beneficio. Tú purificaste los gérmenes de nuestra naturaleza y santificaste las entrañas virginales con tu nacimiento. Toda la creación te entonó un himno cuando apareciste entre nosotros, porque Tú, oh Dios nuestro, estuviste en la tierra y viviste en medio de los hombres; santificaste las aguas del Jordán, enviando de lo alto del cielo tu Espíritu Santo, y quebrantaste la cabeza de los demonios que allí habitaban.

For by Your Will have You out of nothingness brought all things into being and by Your power sustain all creation and by Your Providence direct the world. Apártense todos los espíritus (aéreos) e invisibles, que el demonio se aleje de esta agua y que el espíritu maligno -te rogamos Señor- no se pose sobre aquel que va a ser bautizado, causando el ofuscamiento del entendimiento y la rebelión contra la razón. Tú, Señor del Universo, haz que esta agua sea un agua de reposo, de redención, de santificación, de purificación de las manchas de la carne y del espíritu, una liberación y perdón de los pecados, iluminación de las almas y renovación de la vida. Tú eres, Señor, quien ha dicho: “Lavaos y seréis puros, borrad las iniquidades de vuestras almas.” Tú nos has concedido volver a nacer por medio del agua y del espíritu. We pray You, O Lord, let every airy and invisible specter withdraw itself from us, and let not a demon of darkness conceal himself in this water; neither let an evil spirit, bringing obscurity of purpose and rebellious thoughts, descend into it with him (her) that is about to be baptized. But do You, O Master of All, declare this water to be water of redemption, water of sanctification, a cleansing of flesh and spirit, a loosing of bonds, a forgiveness of sins, an illumination of soul, a laver of regeneration, a renewal of the spirit, a gift of sonship, a garment of incorruption, a fountain of life. ΕΥΧΗ ΤΟΥ ΕΛΑΙΟΥ

Soberano Señor, Dios de nuestros padres, que enviaste a los que se encontraban en el arca de Noé una paloma, llevando en el pico un ramo de olivo, como símbolo de la reconciliación y de la salvación después del diluvio, y que de esta manera figuraste el misterio de la gracia. Tú nos suministras el fruto de los olivos para cumplir tus Misterios y por medio del olivo llenaste del Espíritu Santo a los que estaban bajo la ley y perfeccionas a los que están bajo la gracia. Tú mismo, Señor, bendice ahora este aceite con el poder, la acción y la venida del Espíritu Santo y que se convierta en ungüento de incorrupción, renovación del alma y del cuerpo, inmunidad contra todo ataque diabólico y alivio de todos los males en aquellos que sean ungidos de él con fe o que lo reciban.

Sovereign Lord and Master, God of our Fathers, Who did send to them in the Ark of Noah a dove bearing a twig of olive in its beak as a sign of reconciliation and salvation from the Flood, and through these things prefigured the Mystery of Grace; and thereby have filled them that were under the Law with the Holy Spirit, and perfected them that are under Grace: do You Yourself bless this Oil by the power (+) and operation (+) and descent of the Holy Spirit (+) that it may become an anointing of incorruption, a shield of righteousness, a renewal of soul and body, and averting of every operation of the devil, to the removal of all evils from them that are anointed with it in faith, or that are partakers of it.

Hermanos: cuantos fuimos bautizados en Cristo Jesús fuimos incorporados a su muerte. Por medio del bautismo fuimos, pues, sepultados con él en la muerte, a fin de que, al igual que Cristo resucitó de entre los muertos mediante la portentosa actuación del Padre, así también nosotros vivamos una vida nueva. Porque si hemos sido injertados en él por una muerte semejante a la suya, también lo estaremos por una resurrección semejante. Sabemos así que nuestro hombre viejo fue crucificado con él, a fin de que fuera destruida nuestra naturaleza transgresora y dejáramos de ser esclavos del pecado. Pues el que está muerto queda libre del pecado. Y si hemos muerto con Cristo, creemos que también viviremos con él, pues sabemos que Cristo, una vez resucitado de entre los muertos, ya no vuelve a morir, y que la muerte carece ya de poder sobre él. Su muerte implicó morir al pecado de una vez para siempre; mas su vida es un vivir para Dios. En consecuencia, también ustedes deben considerarse muertos al pecado y vivos para Dios en Cristo Jesús. Brethren, all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death. We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like His. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the sinful body might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. For he who has died is freed from sin. But if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. For we know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. The death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. [RSV]

Tú que has concedido a este tu siervo por el santo bautismo la liberación de los pecados y que lo has otorgado la vida de un nuevo nacimiento, haz, Señor, que brille siempre en su corazón la luz de tu rostro y conserva la armadura de la fe inexpugnable para los enemigos. Protege la vestidura de incorrupción, de la cual se ha revestido, pura y sin mancha y conserva en él, por tu gracia, el sello espiritual con que ha sido marcado, siéndonos propicio a él y a nosotros por tu inmensa misericordia.

You that through Holy Baptism have granted forgiveness of sins to this Your servant, bestowing on him (her) a life of regeneration: do You Yourself, Sovereign Master and Lord, be pleased that the Light of Your countenance evermore shine in his (her) heart; maintain the shield of his (her) faith against the plotting of enemies; preserve in him (her) the garment of incorruption, which he (she) has put on undefiled and unstained; preserve in him (her) the Seal of Your Grace, being gracious unto us, and unto him (her) according to the multitude of Your compassions.

Soberano Señor nuestro Dios, que has honrado al hombre con tu imagen, lo has provisto de un alma racional y de un cuerpo lleno de nobleza, para que el cuerpo sirva al alma racional: has colocado la cabeza en la cima del cuerpo y haz dispuesto en ella la mayor parte de los sentidos, sin que haya interferencia de unos para con los otros; (has cubierto la cabeza de cabellos a fin de que no sea molestada por los cambios de clima) y has dispuesto todos los miembros en la mejor forma, de suerte que con todos ellos el hombre te dé gracias a Ti, gran Artífice; Tú, Señor, que nos has enseñado por tu vaso de elección, el Apóstol Pablo, a hacer todo para gloria tuya, bendice a tu servidor (nombre) que ha venido a ofrecerte como primicias el corte de los cabellos de su cabeza y bendice también a sus padrinos y concédeles que se instruyan sin cesar en Tu ley y hagan lo que Te agrada.

Señor nuestro Dios, que por el contenido de esta fuente bautismal has santificado en tu bondad a los que creen en Ti, que tu bendición se extienda sobre la cabeza de este niño; como bendijiste al Rey David por medio del Profeta Samuel, bendice también la cabeza de tu servidor (nombre), por mi mano pecadora, y visítalo con Tu Espíritu Santo, a fin de que, avanzando en edad y alcanzando alta vejez, te tribute gloria y vea los bienes de Jerusalén todos los días de su vida.

O Lord our God, Who through the fulfillment of the baptismal Font have, by Your Goodness, sanctified them that believe in You: (+) do You bless this child here present, and may Your blessings come down upon his (her) head; as You did bless the head of Your servant David the King through the Prophet Samuel, (+) so also bless the head of this servant (Name), through the hand of me, the unworthy Priest, visiting him (her) with Your Holy Spirit, that as he (she) goes forward to the prime of his (her) years, and the gray hairs of old age, he (she) may send up Glory to You, beholding the good things of Jerusalem all the days of his (her) life.

El que se dignó a ser bautizado por Juan en el Jordán, para nuestra salvación, por las intercesiones de su purísima e inmaculada Madre, del venerable y glorioso profeta, precursor y bautista, Juan, de los santos, gloriosos y alabadísimos apóstoles, de (nombre del santo patrono del recién bautizado), y de todos los santos, tenga misericordia de nosotros y sálvanos, pues eres un Dios bondadoso y filántropo.

He who condescended to be baptized by John in the Jordan River for our salvation, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, (Name of Saint whose name the child has received), and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
